Summary of Position Cadre’s Transit division offers our clients technical rail service solutions including commissioning and testing of new transit vehicles, warranty repairs, preventative maintenance, and inspection services. Our Technicians work with the leading Ontario transit suppliers and agencies, ensuring their equipment is available to provide reliable on time service to their passengers in some of North America’s largest transit systems. The Overhead Catenary System Technician has the overall responsibility for testing, commissioning, modification, repairs, operation, and maintenance of track work and overhead catenary system (OCS) equipment. Position Summary Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to: Perform a variety of technical field assignments such as installation, test, operation and maintenance of track and OCS. Investigate the causes of equipment/subsystem failures and develop alternate solutions Design test/investigation methods and test set-up Report immediately any deviation and record it in the relevant application tool (Maximo etc.) Document and report issues or changes in the work instructions to the supervisor and engineering department Complete functional testing on all completed modifications Requirements: Completed Post-Secondary education in the field of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited technical school or equivalent experience; Two to Four years of experience in similar positions; Strong expertise and knowledge in electro-mechanical equipment; Experience with 750 volt DC power supply systems; Capable of reading and understanding electrical drawings and maintenance manuals; Experience with HVAC systems, metal fabrication or machining would be considered a strong asset; Strong communication skills and capable working with computers Cadre is committed to providing equitable treatment and equal opportunity to all individuals.
